In comparison with bread sector, pizza ovens have other size of the chamber and require different power rating (size and capacity smaller), so heating elements used, even though they have the same design and manufacturing concept as that used for bread ovens, differ in sheath diameters that can be considerably smaller.

Pizza flatteners also require a heat source, albeit reduced, so that the dough does not stick during the flattening operation. As well as tubular elements, these appliances may use foil heating elements with a silicon self-adhesive backing, which are particularly suitable as they are easy to fit and provide uniform heat.
